PRACTICE AREAS:
Prior to her
formal legal education, Ms. Anaszewicz’ legal
skills were developed by the experience of
working as a legal assistant with Baker &
McKenzie, Chicago, Illinois, in their Business
Immigration and International Executive Transfer
practice group. In this position, Ms.
Anaszewicz handled various employment-based
immigration matters for large multi-national
corporations. Additionally, she partially
financed her legal education as a law clerk with
Baker & McKenzie, Chicago, Illinois, in
employment litigation and pro bono development.
Ms.
Anaszewicz’ employment law experience encompasses
defending employers from charges of employment
discrimination filed with the
Equal Employment
Opportunity Commission
(EEOC) and the
Illinois
Department of Human Rights
(IDHR), as well as reviewing employer workplace
policies, employee handbooks, and performing I-9
audits.
Ms.
Anaszewicz earned
her Bachelor of Arts in English at Valparaiso
University with minors in Creative Writing and
Humanities. Her undergraduate writing honors
include being published in The Lighter,
Valparaiso University’s Literary Magazine, and
awards for two non-fiction articles submitted to
the Wordfest Writing Contest.
While earning her J.D. at
Chicago-Kent College of Law, served as a Student Editor for the Illinois
Public Employee Relations Report and a
Student Organization News Editor for the school
paper, The Commentator. Additionally,
she earned the CALI Award for the highest grade
in International Employment Law, for which she
wrote an article on labor law in China.
Ms. Anaszewicz spent an
undergraduate semester abroad in Cambridge,
England. During this time she traveled
extensively throughout the United Kingdom, as
well as to Ireland, Belgium, France, Italy,
Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and the Czech
Republic.
Ms. Anaszewicz was an honors
scholar in Christ College- Valparaiso
University’s interdisciplinary honors program.
She was also a member of Kappa Delta and Sigma
Tau Delta. Her undergraduate musical training
included membership in the Valparaiso University
Chamber Flute Choir.
Ms. Anaszewicz attended the
China Program of the University of Indiana –
Indianapolis School of Law at the Renmin
(People’s) University of China School of Law in
Beijing, China. The program explored the legal
aspects of China's emerging market economy,
the increasing opportunities for trade and
investment in China, and the development of
rule of law in China.
